Well-Being Challenges

BeWell is continuing to facilitate friendly challenges for Penn State Health employees throughout 2026. These free virtual, month-long competitions are designed to promote health and well-being across all areas of the health system. Participate with your colleagues to foster friendly competition and stay motivated all throughout the year.

BeBalanced

The BeBalanced Challenge is a free, system-wide, month-long BeWell initiative for Penn State Health employees, running August 1-31, 2026.

Challenge Details: 

  • The BeBalanced Challenge invites you to focus on creating a healthier, more sustainable balance between work, life, and personal well-being through small, manageable daily actions. Throughout the month, participants will explore simple strategies to support mental well-being, establish healthy boundaries, prioritize self-care, build resilience, and make time for the people and activities that matter most. From taking mindful breaks and moving your body to disconnecting from technology and reflecting on what helps you recharge, each activity is designed to be practical, achievable, and supportive of overall well-being.
  • Download the 31-day BeBalanced calendar (COMING SOON) and challenge yourself to complete the corresponding activity each day.
  • Participants will receive a weekly BeWell email with well-being tips, resources, inspiration, and a link to log their activities from the previous week.

When does the BeBalanced Challenge begin and end?

How does the challenge work

Download the 31-day calendar (coming soon) filled with simple, practical daily activities designed to help you create greater balance in your life. From setting healthy boundaries and practicing self-care to prioritizing movement, reflection, and connection, challenge yourself to complete one activity each day.

How do I log my daily activities?

Use the calendar (coming soon) to check off each activity you complete. Every Monday, you’ll receive an email with a link to log your activities from the previous week. 

Can I swap one of the daily tasks for another?

Absolutely! If one of the daily activities doesn’t fit your schedule, needs, or interests, feel free to substitute it with another activity that supports your well-being and work-life balance. The goal is to find strategies that work for you. 

How will I receive communication during the monthly challenge?

All registered participants will receive a weekly Monday email from BeWell with reminders, well-being tips, resources, and encouragement to help you stay engaged throughout the month. These emails will also include the link to log your activities for the week.

Will there be prizes?

Yes! Participants who log at least one activity each week will be eligible for a random drawing to win PAWS UP! Points at the end of the challenge.
