Wellness Challenges

BeWell is facilitating friendly wellness challenges for Penn State Health employees throughout 2023. These free virtual, month-long competitions are designed to promote health and well-being. Participate with your colleagues to foster friendly competition and stay motivated all throughout the year.

BEMindful

The BeMindful Challenge is a free, system-wide, month-long, virtual mindfulness challenge for Penn State Health employees, running October 1-31.   

Challenge Details: 

  • Participating individuals are encouraged to practice mindfulness for each of the 31 days in October.  
  • Download the 31-day mindfulness calendar and challenge yourself to complete the corresponding activity each day. 
  • Participants will receive a weekly email on Mondays from BeWell with reminders and tips and tricks to be more mindful throughout the day. The email will contain a link where participants will log their mindfulness practice.  
  • To join the BeMindful challenge, register here. Registration will close at 11:59pm on September 28th.

When does the BeMindful Challenge begin and end?

How does the challenge work?

Download the 31-day mindfulness calendar that outlines simple daily tasks/activities to increase mindfulness each day. Challenge yourself to complete one each day! 

Can I swap one of the daily mindfulness activities for another?

Yes- if you cannot complete the assigned daily activity for a specific reason (i.e., the weather), please choose another daily activity to complete instead. The order is not important, but rather that you complete one activity per day. 

How do I log my mindfulness practice?

Use the 31-day calendar to check off each of the daily mindfulness activities you complete. At the end of each week, you will receive an email containing a link to log your daily mindfulness activities. 

How will I receive communication during the monthly challenge?

All registered participants will receive a weekly email on Mondays from BeWell with reminders and tips and tricks to be more mindful throughout the day. The weekly email will also contain a link to log your mindfulness practice.

Will there be prizes?

Participants who complete the challenge will be entered into a drawing to win a mindfulness care package”.
