Do you ever feel so busy that you lose track of the passing days? Taking a moment to yourself can help you feel more relaxed and less stressed. Here are some tips to find calm in those moments:
- Start your day off right. Often, the first thing you think about in the morning is everything on your to-do list, which can make you feel anxious and stressed. Commit to taking a moment at the start of your day to clear your mind and reset. Before you get out of bed, dedicate a few minutes to meditation.
- Find moments for yourself. Make sure you find time for self-care to recharge throughout a stressful day. Take two or three minutes to yourself to recenter and organize your thoughts. Try listening to soothing music, watching a funny video or doing a few quick stretches.
- Take advantage of your commute. Utilize your daily commute to de-stress and decompress. Whether you are driving or taking public transportation, practice a moment of mindfulness. Concentrate on breathing and listening to the sounds around you.
- Don’t forget to eat with awareness. If nothing else, ensuring you eat at regular intervals during the day will give you energy and a moment of rest. Notice the taste and smell of your food. Chew slowly and take pleasure in the experience of eating.
Cultivating mindful moments in your day can help you avoid being on autopilot and remind you to be present.
